Over these past few weeks, we have created a beautiful community with our collective love for film photography. It has been a pleasure sharing this space and passion for creativity with you!
While this has been quite the learning journey, our time together must, unfortunately, come to an end. We’ll always have the beautiful history and lessons shared between us; a couple of my favorite editions of ANALOGORAMA! include our discussions regarding fantasy world-building and the community created by film photography. But before we say goodbye, I want to make sure you have the most beautiful New York summer. Here are three NYC summer event series worth attending AND photographing!
1. Central Park Summer Stage
Central Park is one of the most iconic summer locations in the city. It’s seemingly the park with everything: rowboats, picture-perfect picnic spots, and its own concert series!
While the concert series is not exclusive to Central Park— they have performances and shows in all 5 boroughs— the SummerStage main-stage is located in Central Park on the picturesque Rumsey Playfield.
The concert series is free, all you need to do is check out who’s performing and get your tickets!
2. Museum Mile Festival
If you’re a lover of free events, museums, and block parties, then the Museum Mile Festival is perfect for you. It’s an annual festival held ever summer and this year it will take place on Tuesday, June 14th from 6PM to 9PM. Several museums along Fifth Avenue will have their doors open to the public during this time, inviting the masses to celebrate and engage with the iconic collections of art!
3. NYC PRIDE!
With June being one of the most beautiful times of the year in NYC, celebrate with those who know how to do it best! NYC’s pride celebration lasts all month long with a cumulative parade at the end of the month. This year’s parade will take place on June 26!
Thats all for ANALOGORAMA!
Thank you so much to my wonderful readers for coming along for this ride. I hoped you learned as much as I did! And thank you Blake for assigning this project, I’ve enjoyed it very much.
I hope you have a beautiful summer and an even better time after that! Goodnight Substack!
xx
Maxine ❤️
Nice job on this, Maxine! I have gone the other direction — 4x5 transfer printing to iPhone/Flickr — but I admire this passion for chemical processes, and may dip back in one day when I have time. Have a great summer and I hope to see you around campus!
