Welcome to ANALOGORAMA?
This week, things are going to look a little different. We’re going to be imitating Liv’s newsletter, Fake ID!
I love to be where the people are. I also love to be where my kinda people are, and they’re usually at places like 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn!
In the spirit of Stefon, this bar truly has everything. From a six-foot fairy that checks your ticket at the door beneath the biggest disco ball I’ve ever seen, to both an indoor and outdoor stage, 3 Dollar Bill is nearly always a good time, or at the very least, undoubtedly entertaining.
I went this past weekend in attendance of the Rupaul’s Drag Race season 14 finale and I must say, it was worth the line that wrapped around the corner just to get in. The whole bar was filled with fans of the show patiently anticipating the crowing of a new queen. While my friends and I didn’t make it in time to get seats, we felt lucky enough to be in the midst of so many people who love the show just like we do. Standing on the fringes of the dancefloor and moving strategically in order to see beyond the person’s head in front of me was fine by me because the energy in the room was unmatched!
After the winner was announced, there was an incredible DJ set by Luis Fernando, who talks about how he got his start DJing just last spring in an interview with Thotyssey.
While we were too tuckered out to stay around for the whole night— 3 Dollar Bill parties until 4 AM— I am definitely going back again, hopefully, this weekend to see Alaska as Britney Spears, which is featured on Gay City News’ list of What to Do in Queer NYC this week!
That’s all for this week’s edition of ANALOGORAMA!
I hope I did a good job impersonating Fake ID!
